Dr Eldridge is an economist who specialises in microeconomic theory, industrial economics, public economics, and applied microeconomics. He has extensive experience as an economist, both as an academic and as a practitioner. Dr Eldridge has taught economics at the Australian National University, La Trobe University, and the University of Texas at Austin. He has also worked as an economist for a variety of Australian Public Service agencies and an economic consulting company. The agencies for which Dr Eldridge has worked include the Productivity Commission, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, the Australian Greenhouse Office, the Bureau of Transport and Communications Economics, and the Bureau of Communications Research.
